new generation of swivel base from Cannon. More durable than earlier versions. No way I could support $60 to $70 as a good purchase price. It is a simple mechanical device. No electronics, etc. However, that is what they get for this item.

Good solution at a reasonable price
I have a simple heat system and I need to be able to determine if the heat is functioning when I am not home for many days or longer. This is one of the few I could find which will fill that need. I installed it in 30 minutes with complete ease and have had it running for two weeks or more without any issues. Make sure to read the Google Nest compatibility guide or check out U Tube for videos to make sure the Nest "E" meets your need and is a suitable solution for a change out. There are something like 3 generations of Nest Thermostats. Last point - there is a charging port on the back. Charge it for a few hours before attaching it. This ensures the battery is completely charged. If it is low on charge, it might not energize and it appears you have a problem. That was the case on another one I bought and installed. Once charged it was perfect.
