Would recommend, but has limitations and minor quality issues

For the price its OK, but there are a couple of issues. One is the quality. It's basically in two halves, and the way the top half fixes to the bottom half is not very good, with visible retaining cams. Also if you lift from the top half it comes apart from the bottom, damaging the wood, although this is not visible once back together. The second issue is that the spacing of the shelves is not well thought out for DVDs. Because the locating holes for the shelves are not well positioned it means you cannot get equal and optimal spacing. This leaves you with some where you can hardly get your fingers in, and others with a large gap. I ended up with 6 wasted shelves. Maybe for CDs only or a mix of CDs and DVDs it works out better. I also found the backs were bowed, though this isn't noticeable once it's filled Overall I would still recommend it, it's easy to assemble, looks good, and as long as you lift from the bottom when positioning the fact it is in 2 halves doesn't matter. There is also not much available that does the same job at the optimal depth this has for CD and DVD storage, many are just too deep.

Surprisingly good

Wasn't expecting much given all the 'Hornby bashing' and average reviews. In fact, it's a lovely well detailed loco, with smooth and quiet running. Easy to convert to DCC. Huge improvement to the original, and runs beautifully, especially when speed limited on DCC to a realistic maximum, scale speed, and with good acceleration / deceleration settings.

Excellent value for a fully featured decoder

I've now become a firm fan of these decoders, and fail to see why anyone would pay 20 pounds or more when this does the job just as well.
