Versatile and proper testing
I got the tester because I use both alkaline and NiMH batteries and wanted a tester that can do both. I had lots of batteries around that I did not know their availability state; this device helps determine that. Also I know testing with a load and not just voltage is the better way to assess this state. It is a little pricey but it is one device that covers two battery types and uses a better method of testing than the voltage-based-only testers.

Water valve
Bought a less expensive knockoff that leaked immediately. I made sure I got an original manufacturer replacement on second try. It has worked perfectly.
