Another slice of fun(gus)
I'm now most of the way through and so far so good. I'd heard there was some negative fan reaction and I think I can see why, but I'm a huge fan of the first game and this one is not far off it. I don't feel like part 2 hits quite the emotional heights that part 1 did, but it's complex and engaging. I like the fact that we get to see from the perspectives of different factions and see the shades of grey, rather than have all the enemies encountered be pure evil and thus killable with no conscience or moral ambiguity. Of course, there are plenty you'll be only too happy to kill and that isn't limited to the fungus-zombies.
The gameplay is practically identical to the first game, but with a little more variety on the crafting side of things. That's exactly what I want from a sequel and I'm glad they haven't tried to fix things that weren't broken just for the sake of it.
