Best of Canon EOS 6xx series:Canon EOS 630 buying guide
With EOS 6xx series Canon made its serious entry to professional SLR market. 650 was the first of these series and followed by 620. 630 makes the best of the 6xx series, combines the best features of its predecessor's into one. Its AF, which combines the best features from 620 and 650, was very fast for its time even today. This camera is a notch above the EOS 620 with faster AF speed. Like the EOS 620, the 630 QD has autobracketing up to ±5 stops (1/2-stop increments), maximum of 9 multiple exposures, 6-zone evaluative metering, and 6.5% partial metering at the center. In the AI Servo AF mode, the maximum shooting speed is 2.5 fps. In the One-Shot AF mode, the maximum is 5 fps. The body came in black or metallic gray. The price was the same for both colors. I also have a Canon Rebel TI, it is small and easy but I do not like its plastic feel and durability. Therefore, I bought this camera as an alternative to that. I user them interchanging. I should say 630 is terrific. It is reliable, fast, and feature full for main photography needs. The only thing I am kind of a little bit unhappy is the AF performance at low light, it can go to +1 EV, where as rebel TI can go down to -1 EV. Plus, there is no exposure scale and metering in Manual Mode. But for its age etc, it is great bargain and a adventure. The greatest flaw of this camera is lights seals close to shutter decays and become greasy after years. This creates a sticky shutter. Therefore shutter blades needs to be cleaned and sometimes maintained. I cleaned mine about 1 1/2 years ago and there is still no further grease sign. Be careful with the blades while cleaning because you can can crack them very easily. If you are not sure about yourself take it to a professional, it should not be a expensive job.

Canon AE1 - buying guide
This camera is excallent and built to last. It handling and feel is magnificient as well as its performance. You can find its review speak of it very highly. I will not go after its good, because camera is super as I said and gave my rating. You can also find the its specs and user manual in the web, I will not go there, I just want to point the things you need to be aware while buyinng one which is the most important one, especially buying from ebay: 1- MIRROR SQUEAK - this is the most common problem. it causes slow mirror up/down which results bad pictures. Your camera MUST NOT have this problem otherwise you will not like results which is improper exposure. you hear this type of squeak when you press the shutter. 2- APERTURE SQUEAK - this is less common but its results are similar: bad exposure. the aperture level does not move fast enough and close the aperture enogh. you hear a squeak when you wind the film. 3- BAD LIGHT SEALS: you camera light seals needs to be replaced at this age. 4- CAMERA FIRES AS SOON AS I WINF FILM: bad magnet(1) problem, creates unwanted double exposure. 5- CAMERAS DOES NOT FIRE: generally bad magnet(2). result is obvious, lock up. 6- BATTERY DRAIN: the battery drains in couple days due to some internal bad contacts. Therefore, my suggestion is buy from a good reputation seller or ensure you check all those once you get it and you have option to return.

Ahead of its time: Minolta Maxxum 7000
Minolta MAXXUM 7000 is the world's first auto focus SLR which is deployed in huge quantities. When it is launched in 1985, it got great attraction from consumers. However, it was not the first commercially available SLR. First auto focus SLR try is done by Pentax by ME super model but it was not a success and did not well accepted by the consumers. It had some problems and was not very user friendly. However, MAXXUM 7000 was the real entry for the photographers to put their foot in to the auto focus age. The camera has a strange shape, does look very good. But once I take it in my hands, my feel is completely changed. It has a great fell, usage is easy all buttons and dials are perfectly placed. To be honest I bought this camera for my collection since it was the first commercially successful auto focus SLR. I do not expected that much. It outperformed my Canon EOS 630 big time for the auto focus ion low light, even though it is way older than 630. And recently, I bought one more as a back up to my digital MAXXUM 7D. Common problems & issues needs to be considered while buying one: - Aperture always closes max (this is a problem which make camera unusable, be careful about this) - LCD Bleed - Discoloring on the handle - Prefer 4AAA handle, other one makes it bulky
