Not sure if better than stock but it fixed my issue.

I really should wait a little while longer before writing a review, but for any of those who are worried about this not fitting or anything, I can tell you it fits like a glove. Comes with bearings already in it so all you have to do is toss some grease in there and slide your axle on. The only reason I got a new carrier was because the stock one that came on the used 2008 raptor 250 somehow had the circlip for the rear brake bracket ground/rubbed off! I couldn't install the rear break. This let me have rear brakes after months of front only. I don't really use them much anyway. I snapped 3 screwdrivers adjusting the chain a few days after installing and riding around. The carrier was a little hard to move (the bolts were loose) the first time I did it, but the second time it moved a little easier. Lastly, I'm not sure if I put it in 180 degrees backward or something but I put it in initially with the grease fitting sticking out the back top. In order to get the chain tensioned correctly, I had to spin the carrier so far that the grease fitting was now blocked by the rest of the housing on the swing arm. I had to loosen the chain all the way up to grease it, then tension it. Not a big deal really but I'll see if I can't have the grease fitting facing the opposite direction (towards front of quad) so that when I tension the chain the grease fitting will be accessible.

It's what I needed for my 2008 Raptor 250R. Shame I rounded off the oil drain plug and now have to wait to do the oil change.
