Sony's Blemmish
34 von 65 finden das hilfreich The PS3 is a black mark on Sony's reputation. One of many they have been getting lately. It has some good features, but consider this:
- It's over 1 year old already. Hardware was designed over 1 year ago, so in Moore's law, it's almost outdated.
- Blu-Ray media is bad. 80% less protective coating than DVD or HD-DVD. DVD's are hard enough to keep from scratching to oblivion, now this? And, no, Sony does not use the special coating on PS3 discs. Would you trust your game collection to this fragile media?
- Identical processor core to Xbox360 (IBM Power PC). So why buy this if the 360 is just as good or better? PS3 processor is not best for gaming anyway, with 7 of the cores not even having cache memory! Games perform best with lots of cache. PS3's CPU is very poorly designed for games. Xbox360 CPU has 3 cores all with plenty of cache memory. Programmers already love it more than the PS3.
- Developers are exiting Sony's platform. The PS3 is too hard to program for.
- $70 ~ $100 in the future. The PS3 cost so much to make, Sony is expected to have $70+ games very soon in it's library. You think $600 is too much, wait 'til you have to pay for the games...
- Poor on-line support. Sony's on-line strategy is failing. It won't be free for all games in the future either. Xbox360 does have the Silver on-line service which is free, BTW.
Sony's attempt at cornering the market both on games and media are going to be it's last stand. I'm sure a PS3 will be a neat mantle piece some day.

Comfortable on face, but not comfortable breathing.
Up to now I've used the good old ResMed mask with the forehead pad. So I was hoping this new mask would be more comfortable. First, it's smaller than the old mask, so I'm going to have to move up to the large size, where on the old mask the medium was fine. Also, this new mask seems much harder to breath in. It doesn't have the same venting holes the old mask does, and that makes breathing out very different. I might get used to it, but right now It's not as comfortable in breathing. The comfort on my face is better though, and it stays in place as good as I would expect.

Perfect part for a hard to find cradle for the W59R handsets.
