Airport Express for the whole house music win
If you are a music person more than a movie person, and you have both Apple and Windows PC products ... this is your solution. iTunes for PC does not (pause) play well (dropout) with Apple TV. And Apple TVs don’t work well without, well, TVs.
iTunes on your PC for music, however,works reliably, amazingly well with these Airport Express boxes which can be hooked up to whatever speakers or stereo you like (analog or Digital Optical). And that iTunes on your PC/Airport Express solution is a fraction of the cost of SONOS or other whole house music systems.
As a bonus you can also use the Airport Express to create or extend a wireless network or add a network printer via USB—but I just love them for music in every room.
