Canon CLI-8 Ink Cartridge
Canon products just work best in my Canon printer. I have used cartridges from 3rd-party suppliers, but they are rarely problem free and never last as long. More care is required during installation if you don't like getting ink on your hands. In this particular case, I've come to the conclusion that simpler is better, and the OEM products certainly are simpler.

Improved Pocket Camera
I bought this to replace an older Canon SD850 IS pocket camera from 2008 that only had 8MP resolution and 4x optical zoom (16 digital). I hadn't realized how lame the older camera had become until I was comparing the shots I took on a trip to Alaska with those taken by my brother-in-law (with a much newer camera) of the same subjects.
The SX710 HS camera operates very similarly, but has 20.3MP resolution and a 30x optical zoom. Big difference! Still easy to use in the Auto setting, but many more options available in manual, many of which I still have not tried. Starts up quickly and is ready to shoot within a second or two, and has a nice big screen. It is not the latest version; that would be the SX720 HS, which has a 40x zoom capability, but I'm glad that I stuck with this version as the ultra high zoom models have a little difficulty getting enough light to the image sensor at the higher reaches of the zoom. Also, the higher the zoom capability, the more difficult it is to track or hold steady on subjects at the upper zoom limits.
Overall I am very pleased with this camera, and couldn't be more pleased with the image quality and ease of use.
