Excellent stone for sharpening and polishing

The 1000 grit side is 'nearly splash and go' and the 6000 is genuinely splash and go, as far as I can make out - both sides have excellent cutting properties (they're very quick to work with). This combination gives me both excellent shaping and sharpening as well as a pretty fine mirror finish. It's also allowed me to refine my sharpening technique so my results have gone from 'hair-popping sharp' to 'hair-popping sharp, pretty and with a durable edge'. Bottom line: If I knocked it off the bench and it got smashed, I'd buy the same stone again.

Fantastic little hatchet!

Cuts and splits surprisingly well, very helpful around the garden, comes with a perfectly serviceable edge. Just about to sharpen it up and play around with using it for some joinery work, because I want to see if it will work for carving some simple joints. Thoroughly recommend!
