A great rework of a less-than-perfect film
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich While the original Star Trek: The Motion Picture left much to be desired, director Robert Wise went back and added a considerable amount of polish to the 1979 original. The result is a much improved film with tighter editing, smoother continuity and a better movie experience overall. In my opinion, the added visual effects are a bit gimmicky and dated by today's standards, but they are understated and well-placed nonetheless. Overall, this is the definitive version of the film and is more than worthy of purchase. One wonders why it hasn't yet received a proper high definition release.
