Man and Cat Go West
The story of eviction, with a cat for a constant companion, and quite a few minor companions (very amusing) along the way. This takes place at a time in History when New York was at its ebb. The US President had been headlined as saying, "Drop Dead New York." Thus began the 2nd great depression which proceeded to roll westward, engulfing the nation. This tale reduces that bit of history to one man and his assortment of companions as he leaves his home and heads West. It was Art Carney's Oscar-winning performance, the supreme accolade overdue to a great actor.
