Baofung GT-3TP - Good all around compact HT
This GT-3TP is my 4th Baofeng HT, and my favorite model. Slightly higher power output - makes a difference in hitting distant repeaters and simplex. Love the yellow versus usual black radios. Makes it easy to find in my cluttered house or back of car. Speaker volume and clarity very good for an HT.
Backlighting on buttons a Baofung standard, display is very readable. Reliability of my other Baofengs has been fairly good, but did have transmit output of another GT-3TP quit after a year of moderate use. So now keeping on mid transmit power to extend the finals lifetime, and saving high power for when necessary and fairly short transmissions. Battery life has been very good for all Baofung HT's.
Would not rely on this as my only radio, but use as my everyday kick around one. If it got lost or stolen or broken, it is not an expensive loss. Recommend as first radio, backup radio and kick-around radio.
Love the ability to receive FM broadcast (88 - 108Mhz) - use it all the time for this.
Stock antenna good. With Nagoya NA-771 antenna (SMA-female) is a great upgrade.

Good budget Auto GPS
TomTom VIA 1435 is well featured but also simple to use. Screen a little small, good for limited mounting areas. Suction grip is a bit limited on angle positioning. Nice having Canada and Mexico included in the database. Overall great value.

Great wired headset for long conference calls or gaming.
Samsung SHS-100V has features not found on most headsets. Boom mic offers very flexible positioning, and can be rotated completely out of the way. Headphone band and fully enclosed foam pads can be worn comfortably for hours, and keep out distracting external sounds very well. The cable includes small switch box (with clothing clip) with on/mute switch (not a push button), making it easy to mute the microphone without need to touch your keyboard. A rotary volume control works great to control levels. I have used this model for several years, and they hold up well to daily wear and tear. The cable is long enough so your position is not constrained. Connectors are individual Mic and stereo earphone, so if you have a combo connection on your computer, you will need a Y-cable to combine the signals. I prefer this flexibility of separate connectors. Never need to worry about a Bluetooth battery going dead during a long call. Call me old school, but I like this headset combination the best of all I've used. Headphone sound quality is good, though favors bass a bit. In group calls, I often get comments on how clearly my voice comes though. Microphone inlet hole is positioned to help avoid 'plosive "S" sounds, though I also have placed a small foam cover on the mic to totally prevent sending any breath sounds.
Some other participants use Bluetooth speakers as their microphone, and coupled with room reverberations, can be very difficult for them to be understood.
Highly recommend this headset for sound quality and isolation from room noise, for both me and other call participants. Also suitable for music listening.
