Surprisingly exceptional build quality.
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich I bought this radio after experiencing some issues with a couple Motorola XPR-3500e radios that I have. It was a bit tricky to get the updated firmware on there, but once that was plugged in this radio was very easy to program. The programming software is a bit bare bones compared to say the TYT or Motorola CPS, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The software is very straight forward and easier to program because of this.
The build quality shocked me, it is a very premium commercial grade material, and has a nice solid weight to it. The only thing 'cheap' about this radio is the belt clip, everything else about it is quite impressive. The buttons and keypad have a nice tactile feel to them and are very responsive. The button spacing and size is great, especially for someone with larger hands. I have no issue plugging in frequencies in VFO. PTT key is a good size and the extra programmable function keys are extremely handy.
This radio was actually a bit smaller than I was expecting, which is a good thing in my book, and believe me when you get one in your hands and feel the weight of the unit you will be HOOKED. The DMR sound quality is very crisp and clear, I actually prefer it to the Motorola's personally, as I feel the audio levels have better equalization depending on the station transmitting. FM analog reception is quite clear as well and performs as expected.
The screen is very bright and easy to read. I did notice something strange with the key beep setting and the brightness of the screen. If you have the beep option on for any key press, you can hear a high pitch frequency whine each time you press a key with the backlight at a lower brightness setting. I keep the key press beep off normally, but it was something I noticed and felt like mentioning.
All in all this radio is fantastic for it's price range and even for radio's double its price. I was pleasantly surprised with this HT and recommend this for anyone interested in DMR. I have had over a dozen HT's, currently posses 7 HT's at the moment, and can tell you with a straight face this is my favorite HT I have ever owned. It just feels so good in your hands.
