Great model, worth the time and effort. Easier to light this kit.
Its a great model, much larger (1:640 scale) than any of the current U.S.S. Defiant models (1:1000 or 1:2500 scale which are terribly small and very hard to light) that are available. Granted it is an older model and you will have do some heavy modifications to it if you want to light this version but the end results will be so worth the time and effort put into it. The base display stand that comes with it is only slightly flimsy but works if you can afford it and find a better display than I would say go for it. Also as others have already said yes the model says snap together but I would recommend using some model cement glue old 90's model snap together kits didn't snap together that well and tended to fall apart unless glued.
And for those that think it's too much work well maybe for you it is but any star trek fan will love this model as the modifications will be easier to do it on than on any of the smaller scale defiant models.
