Standard Catalog of Lionel Trains
This is a very good book on post war lionel trains. It gives production variations of almost every item produced. It has color photos of many items
and history tid bits included that are nice. It is not perfect, as some items do not have much listed detail or some may be missing, but the author requests more information, and to be informed of any mistakes, so the book can be continually be made better. I find it worth the e bay price I paid and then some. Would be nice if someone would now publish the same thing on MPC production, and even go up to the present time. I would purchase this book again and recomend it to others.

A great looking Lionel model. Has the better plastic trucks, & paint & lettering are perfect. Just a nice freight car.;

El Cheepo Box car from Lionel Not impressed
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich The Lionel Beginner freight box cars are all plastic except the wheels & axles. plastic body, doors, frame, trucks, & couplers. The body is not painted just colored plastic. very simple lettering. For the price new they are not a good deal. Many other makers make much better cars for less money. Menards has 19.99 box cars with thick plastic bodies, great paint schemes, steel frames, diecast trucks, & wheels, metal axles, brake wheel, door guides, & couplers. Now that is a good deal & super nice car for the price!
