Solid performance then and now.
Back in the early days of Atari, these DSDD Dysan floppies proved to be reliable and long lasting. Revisiting the nostalgic 8-bit hobby today proves that Dysan can be counted on to retrieve data that has been dormant for over forty years. I trust them to keep my work safe as I explore extreme ideas with the tools of the past. They are a particularly good match for Atari's XF551 drives, but work equally well with Indus GT, RANA, and Percom.

Mu Metal for Speciality Magnetics
Mu Metal is an excellent material for creating magnetic shields and audio transformers with broad frequency response into the ultrasonic range. I needed to replace missing head shields for some vintage floppy drives I was restoring and fabricate custom transformers to be used in the 40 kilohertz range. The Mu Metal sheets proved to be perfect for my application.

Transformers built to last.
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich These are a quality product built to last from decades ago. I've worked as an electronics technician and instructor for the past fifty years. The only time I've seen one of these fail is because they were abused without proper circuit protection. The windings on these transformers are neatly wound so that the wires run parallel to each other and don't cross over themselves. Each layer is insulated from the one below it. Modern transformers are scramble wound and more likely to fail. I bought a quantity of these to use in labs for my electronics program where forgiveness from time to time is needed.
