The Case Against Gentrification.
History is our story. Revising it and destroying it is unacceptable. !970s urban "renewal" tore down the north-south central axis of 122 blocks of what was once one of the most beautiful cities in North America. Greed and the idea of progress, succeeded in the first for Demolitioners and the State but progress did not follow. The human and architectural toll never recovered.
This handsome,informative and lavishly illustrated book is one of the finest pictorial histories available and a document for not only those interested in the story of what was once a great City but is insightful for urban planners.

Definitive biography of one of Soul's greatest Kings.
Having read Green's autobiography, I was very curious to read what a biographer would have to say from a more open perspective. I was not disappointed.

Definitive.
I am most interested in the original album for its coherence as art as opposed to collections of work and the "Exodus" sessions are definitive. This recording is a tremendous example of the vision of soul-singer-songwriter-Marley's Reggae at peak creativity, something shared between this recording and the "Kaya" album. The Soul and political roots of Reggae are best represented in the "Exodus" and "Kaya" albums.
