Well-made utility box
The box is high-grade plastic with built-in posts for mounting circuit boards. It can be easily drilled and modified to accommodate placement of circuitry and accessories. Even though lightweight, it is not especially fragile but can withstand moderate impacts.

Easy hookup
Although I'm not using the receiver for model aircraft, I find it extremely useful for robotic projects. It couldn't be any easier to connect wiring and sync with a Tactic transmitter. In my haste, I failed to purchase the recommended harness with guided plug, but even so there were no shortages of tutorials and specifications online. The TR625 was chosen for its "fail-safe" feature, which was a must for my application. This item is a great buy.

If it works, don’t fix it. If it works well, don’t replace it.
I owned and operated an older version of the model 993 for several years. It was always an inseparable part of my shack, having tried several antenna systems over the years. For one reason or another I sold the lot to a young couple just getting into HF.
After four years of being away from Amateur Radio, I felt it calling my name again. So, even though I went Homebrew QRP only, I never forgot the great performance of the MFJ-993. It was such a delight to purchase the version “B” and connect it all together where it belonged - same spot as before. Obviously, the other equipment looks homebrew, but I reserved the antenna Auto Tune device as the only manufactured piece because it had always been a faithful part of the glory days of Ham Radio for me.
Accuracy, robust, and easy to use is the MFJ-993B. Manual is OK, but autotune is great for me.
