Not an expensive product and with some modifications to the guide it might be a good DIY tool.

The sliding guide is made of plastic and it has far too much play whilst moving from side to side which can result in the chisel / plane blade having an uneven ( not square ) cutting edge. Thin slivers of acetate cut to 2 - 3mm widths and fitted ( glued ) into the sliding grooves seem to tighten the whole movement resulting in a square blade edge. A bit Heath Robinson I know, but it did the job !! How long will the acetate last ..... who knows ! A precision steel guide might be the answer?
