Great grip on icy roads
I bought these because I'm fed up falling off my bike every winter, broken wrist last year, collar bone the year before, my commute is just under 6 miles, some on main roads, some through housing estates but mostly along a canal footpath. The main roads get treated, the housing estates don't and the canal footpath can be deadly. It rained last night and the temperature then fell to about -3, to say I was a bit worried was to say the least. The main road was fine but there's a hill in the first estate I go through that's shaded by the houses and I was dreading it. Sure enough, there was a luckless driver spinner her wheels trying to get up the hill, imagine my glee when I went past her standing on my pedals laying down full power with no loss of traction. Having some confidence in the tyres now I rode along the canal at normal speed, right over the frozen puddles without a single twitch.
The cons - they're a bit slower than the 28's I usually run on and they're definitely slower than the slicks I use in the summer. They also make a sort of crackling noise on hard surfaces sound like a lot of twigs cracking all the time.
Wish I'd bought these years ago.

Decent tap at a reasonable price. Was better quality than I expected.

Crystal clear and survive being dropped on the patio
Look like glass, have been through the dishwasher about 20 times with no noticeable scratches and survive being knocked off the table onto the patio. I also reckon they keep your drink cooler for longer, ideal for barbecues and supping beer in the garden on a sunny day.
