A classic bench DMM, good as new
Apparently pickled new and stored in an airtight container. Powers up fine and looks great. Tests OK so far.

Nicely engineered for its misson
I got this as a companion for the Bosch PS41B Impact Driver. The PS41B is a beautiful piece of work; makes you regret all those times you used a powered screwdriver to drive screws. The PS31B is a drill/driver, a dual purpose tool. It works fine. As a driver, the clutch action works as intended, and it's handy to have it adjustable, especially for fine work. As a drill, you just lock the clutch, and fire away. The two-speed selector is helpful, depending on what you are making holes in. It is a compact tool, and plenty powerful enough to tackle everyday drilling tasks like half-inch holes in wood, or one-quarter inch holes in sheet metal. As a driver, it's fine for light assembly work, such as tightening small screws or nuts. For heavier fasteners, or carpentry (like hanging cabinets), I'd reach for the impact driver first. The tool is lightweight for its power, but it is a bit top-heavy, and invites a grip that rests the tool body on the top of your hand. But then, the direction switch is all too easy to press inadvertently (and the switch action is lighter than I feel comfortable with). Some folks have complained about the mechanics of the chuck (the "runout" problem); my unit was fine in this regard.
