Great Release for a Great Movie
I've never bought an all-regions Blu-Ray before, so I was a little hesitant making this purchase, but I'm very happy that I went through with it! The movie played for me perfectly (I'm Region 1) and I enjoyed listening to the director's commentary track so much that I want to check out the disc's other special features. Oldboy is a very colorful and visually imaginative movie, so it's worth it to own it on Blu-Ray at the highest resolution commercially available.
If you haven't seen Oldboy before, go in knowing this is a HARD 18+ movie, complete with graphic violence, nudity, and emotional suffering. The cinematography, sets, and acting are spectacular, and the story, while very bleak, is still always fast-paced, entertaining, and bizarre (in a good way). A very accessible movie for people who want to watch more international cinema, and don't mind some dark stuff.
