Deer Creek miniDSP unit to replace Bose 901equaliser
10 von 10 finden das hilfreich I still enjoy listening to music on my Bose 901 Series 1 stereo speakers that are over 44 years old. I had been considering for some years having my Bose equaliser professionally overhauled for replacement of capacitors and transistors as necessary, to restore its performance back to factory specifications. When checking for restoration options, I discovered the Deer Creek miniDSP unit that replaces the Bose equaliser with a pre-programmed digital signal processor.
George Ahlborn of Deer Creek Audio promptly answered all my queries, and when I decided to purchase one of his miniDSP units, the purchase process and delivery went smoothly.
I installed the miniDSP unit between my Rotel RC-1082 preamp and RB1572 Power amp and first listened to some favourite vinyl recordings, then a selection of Flac digital recordings. I was immediately impressed by the clarity and increased “presence” of the music. Higher frequencies that that I thought had disappeared due to my aging ears were back again and had a smoothness and clarity that was exhilarating! The stereo definition was also improved, and I spent more time that I should have listing to a wide range of music from Pink Floyd to Bach to Gregorian Chant, and being entranced by the music that was so familiar but now heard freshly again.
I have no hesitation in recommending this unit to owners of early Bose 901 Series 1 and 2 speakers as the Deer Creek programmed miniDSP unit makes my Bose’s “sing their hearts out” as their designer Amar Bose no doubt intended.
