Psych-ooooooo!
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I absolutely love this series and have been wanting to own it ever since it was taken off of Netflix. When I tried to describe this show to my brother, I could only say that it was like watching the characters from Scrubs perform The Mentalist. The main characters are quirky and fun, with personalities that cause you to laugh and fall in love. Each actor/actress cast is perfectly suited for the part, and play their roles amazingly. There are also a large number of big star cameos (seriously LOVE the episodes with Cary Elwes), satirical pop culture references to famous shows and movies throughout, and even a hidden pineapple in every episode. As the seasons progress, so does the character development. The childish yet charming Shawn eventually grows up (a little), but can still make you laugh just as much as in the beginning seasons. The fresh faced and naive Detective Juliet O’Hara shows that you can be a strong and competent badass without losing femininity. And even the stiff and grumpy Detective Lasseter begins to warm up his icy exterior and allows friendships with this crazy group of misfits.
Now to review the product itself. Most packages of the complete series can cost over $100 on Amazon. But this dvd set was such a deal. I was afraid it might be a knock off, and would be a pirated copy with low image quality discs. But I have watched EVERY episode on every disc now, with special features as well. Everything was great. There were no problems with playback or quality. There weren’t any strange captions or logos running across the bottom. It was exactly what I was hoping for. Some people have been complaining about the quality of the image. But you have to remember that this show was recorded for TV before everything was high definition. So you can’t be picky. My final thoughts are that if you are still on the fence, just do it. Because it is so hard to find quality family entertainment like this show on TV these days. You won’t be sorry.
