Must-have reference for Beatles fans
Must-have for true Beatles fans - you'll not only read it, you'll keep it handy as a reference. About 80% of the book is an entry for EVERY SINGLE RECORDED Beatles song, in recording order (Love Me Do to I Me Mine) with anywhere from a few paragraphs to 6 pages on each song. It gives recording and release dates, who played what instrument, and the songwriter's state of mind and what was happening contemporaneously at the time. As a bonus, Ian MacDonald is a superb writer. Opinionated (necessarily), but fair. I tried to find the UK version, which has a different (better) dust cover, but it seems unavailable on eBay.

Masterpiece
Her masterpiece and one of the 20 best albums of the 1970s, which covers a lot. Listen and you will agree that Joni is one of the top two female songwriters of all time (along with Carole King).
