A Thorough Text and Photographic Review of the Larger Mammals of the World's Mountains
This is an outstanding volume of the larger mammals of the world's mountain mammals. I was most impressed with the quality of the photographs of rare and almost-never photographed species and subspecies. An example is a nearly complete photographic record of the various species and subspecies of argalis and urials. Argalis are most regularly represented by a single photo of a Marco Polo Sheep, but here there are photos of Tibetan Argalis, Gobi Argalis, Mongolian Argalis, etc. with only the possibly extinct Kara Tau Argali missing. I was thoroughly mesmerized at the complete photographic record of Chamois species, Asian Snow Sheep varieties, Gorals, Musk Deer, etc. For a lover of the larger mammals of the world's mountains or even just the mountains of the world, this volume is a treasure that belongs on your shelf.
