Not the best of the bunch
My kids and I loved a lot of Julia Donaldson books, but I have to say this is my least favourite. It’s a bit confusing, and it kind of doesn’t go anywhere. As the adult reader you do sort of hope it will end soon, but it doesn’t. My daughter enjoys me putting on funny voices for characters, but it proved tricky to maintain said funny voices when reading it due to several characters being in play.
That said my 4 year old still thought it was great... the cynic in me thinks perhaps because it delayed bed time so long.....
