Okay but let down by the detail and fails to impress
I've had this grill for a few weeks and used it enough times to come to some views on it. Overall it's OK but fails to be great at anything.
Assembly - A pain to put together, especially the moulded plastic sections that are supposed to interlock. If there is any variance in the moulding then they don't fit properly and cannot be bent like metal to aid a good fit.
A bit skimpy on the amount of lava rocks included.
Quality - Seems a bit flimsy and I'm not convinced that the metalwork will last many seasons especially the burner ( spares can be bought but are rarely cost effective).
In use - There is a reasonably accurate thermometer in the lid but it's a bit pointless as the grill carries a sticker insisting that you should not roast food with the lid closed. Why? I've ignored this and cooked with the lid closed with no issues other than fitting things inside it. The strange lop-sided lid is a hindrance as you can only cook larger items on on the right hand side of the grill. Also with the lid closed the warming shelf will drop to approx. 1 1/2 inches of the grill surface meaning that the rear of the entire grill will only fit flat shallow items. Of course none of that is an issue if you are cooking on an open grill.
The cooking grill does not sit very securely on the mounting points and is easily dislodged. Not a big area to cook on.
A big plus is the use of lava rocks which seem to be becoming increasingly rare in bbqs. It's a shame as it's the presence of the rocks that delivers the smokey flavour that you want from grilled food. Gas BBQs without the rocks just don't deliver the same results.
If you only light one of the burners be prepared for plenty of pops of unburned gas. Nothing much to worry about but it does make me question the design quality.
In summary, I'd say that this is a good choice if you want a lightweight portable grill that will do both grilling and low and slow cooking albeit in smaller quantities. Big plus for the lava rocks but a different shape lid & re-positioned arming rack would be a huge improvement.

Decent item. Inexpensive and very useful for the amateur mechanic
Seems to be well constructed. The included software ran with no issues on a Windows XP laptop. The instructions for installation are a bit basic but easy to follow.
I was able to connect to my VW very easily and read error codes to diagnose a problem with the soft top roof not operating. This saved me hours by showing me where the problem lay and a great deal of money by being able to fix it myself.
Highly recommended even if you just want to know what the problems are before handing it over to someone else to do the work.
