Cheap, not cheerful.
My PC is 15 yrs old, single core, 2GB RAM, and runs Windows XP SP3. This Simulator needs a more modern setup to work properly - I found I could use Phoenix and XTR Reflex at low settings; nothing else would work. Free Rider and Real Flight (I think) need Direct X 10 or better, and I only have Direct X 9.
The CD itself was flawed. Half way into the Real Flight installation it froze, with a 'missing data' error message. A close look revealed a blob of muck buried deep in the CD under the plastic; clearly, when the factory burned the data into it, a significant bit was missing. Never mind - I doubt if my PC would have run Real Flight anyway.
The 'dongle' itself is fine; the cables work well; my Flysky i6X transmitter works perfectly with it. I can only use low settings - maximum frame rate is 41 - and the nice 3-D landscapes aren't available. A pity, because all the good viewing options are greyed-out.
Never mind. The Simulator works in part, and at this price, the flawed disc wasn't worth returning. Having Phoenix and XTR is better than nothing. Caveat emptor.

Good quality connectors that don't melt.
I found these to be excellent. Soldering terminal-sized copper cores (about 3mm thick) into them was a pretty stern test, so I cranked my 60 watt soldering iron up to 400°C, pre-tinned everything, then made the joints.
Everything gets VERY hot, VERY quickly, so don't try to hold things by hand - use a bench vice or some flexible arms with crocodile clips, because the joints must stay absolutely stationary once the solder's molten and cooling.
As a precaution I fitted a female plug to the male to act as a heatsink and jig to help hold the terminals in place. With some cheaper connectors, the nylon softens and the connectors become loose and useless, but these ones took the high heat easily and the joints were done in about 10 seconds. Bright and shiny, with no sign of the nylon melting.
Very good, and recommended.

Very good. The level is nicely made, securely packed, and comes with useful accessories. Indoors it's extremely bright (even with all room lights on); outdoors it also works well if you shade the beam's impact point with a piece of card and use the green reflective target supplied. I installed a fence, at ranges up to about 30' in broad daylight without any problems.
Activating the extended warranty needs a smartphone/QR code reader, which I don't have; I'll try the helpline.
