Programming this remote is not as easy as they claim!

We finally got the codes for the TV and then the Direct TV to work, but when we programmed in the 9 channels we wanted as favorites, they were either jumping all over the place or had writing on the screen that you then had to use the other original remote to clear. When we cleared the remote back to factory settings so we could reprogram the channels, then we couldn't get any of the codes for Direct TV to work. It is a good idea, but very poor planning. This is supposed to be for elderly people to use, so I purchased for my Dad who has limited vision. The directions are way too confusing. So far, we are unable to use this remote.
