Citizen Eco-Drive Men's Satellite WaveWorld Time GPS Black-Tone Watch CC3035-50E
    13. Jan 2021
Good SW Watch - easy to use, looks great, very light in weight
I'm used to the heavy atomic time watches sold by Citizen (I have two including the "Royal Air Force Red Arrows" watch and they are great. This watch is a little more low profile but the green on black background color is attractive, it is easy to use and is also very light weight. Complaints about seeing the watch hands in the dark did not occur for me since I can clearly see the hour and minute hands in the dark, I don't know what that complaint was signifying from other users. All-in-all, this watch is awesome. It perhaps is not as heavy duty as the other atomic watches but for something different (I wanted a satellite wave watch), it is pretty good and is very stylish! 9.2/10 stars.
MORBID ANGEL - Blessed are the Sick LP - DEATH METAL CLASSIC - sealed new copy
    19. Feb 2016
    MB's '91 LP in '15
Well "Blessed are the Sick" remains one of the best DM albums ever, that doesn't mean Scott Burns (Engineer of the Terrorizer LP, NDs "Harmony Corruption", Suffocation's 1991 magnum opus "Effigy of the Forgotten", and every Death album '88 until '98) and the company at Morrisound Studios including headman himself Tom Morris (engineer for the first five M.A. albums) couldn't improve at least slightly on their product of yore. The big new thing in the past 5-years at Earache records (and elsewhere) is Full Dynamic Range reissues of classic albums. In short, part of the trend with digital recording becoming hegemonic and producers in the booth being given control to a minutia that had been previously unimaginable -well, let's just say they took full advantage of this new power and it led to metal albums (from 1989/90-1995) sounding more and more compressed and led to good quality amplifiers and their controls becoming glorified paper weights. True, the crisp quality sound coming from these CDs of that area preempted any criticism from the lessened controls via the amplifier on part of the listener....until recently. The FDR (full dynamic range) records from Earache have been nothing short of having your breath taken away in the same way that occurred when you first heard these records the first time. I like the "Altars of Madness" FDR LP but this one is different in that Earache enlisted in Relapse for the release. And unlike the "Covenant" FDR which I solely an Earache endeavor and was true FDR this is more like a traditional reissue/remaster -which is kinda disappointing to say the least. After the first spin though, those complaints went out the window. While it might not be a true "FDR", the range is much wider than the CD or original LP version. It is as dynamic as any Morbid Angel I've heard bringing out the technical wizardry of Eddie Van Azagoth (lol) and the total sound sounds more balanced than ever before with Sandoval's drums sounding very strong with a renewed low end, more balanced mid-range and cymbals that shine in an isolated high range. David Vincent sounds more defined but otherwise not any different than the original. All-in-all, a tastefully redone "partial dynamic range" remaster/reissue. Highly recommended for classic South Florida DM fans and M.A. fans -including those that were always on the fence about this album. The technical and progressive nature and sheer complexity to Trey's guitar work (and Richard Brunnelle) here is a tour de force. Well worth the money and listening to in an expensive record player with ruby or gold plated needles. Who knows? You might think like me and saying, "It sounds better than on CD!" Ha!
