Easy Build Model With Scale Qualities

I bought the model because I have watched videos of it being able to have good free flights. As a long time model builder, I would say it is a good easy build. Patience is always the key. Good craftsmanship always pays off in the long run, It has good stand-off scale qualities. Consider it for your next model build.

A good detailed toy

I gave it as a gift to a five year old boy. It was what he wanted. It is strong and given in good detail. I would recommend it for nice, decent play with imagination.

A great model to build in scale WW II aircraft

Guillow's model of the TBF Avenger is a great scale model in the "500" series that they manufacture. Making the balsa sheets into laser cut parts has been a terrific improvement and very helpful in being able to construct the model. I would say that basic out-of-the-box construction of the model would make a static or stand-off scale model. In order to be a flyable model. it would require reducing balsa from the parts by trimming off excess wood and sanding and possibly also not painting it in order to reduce weight or mass. Also, in order to make it flyable, it could be helpful to make a more optional airfoil for the wings such as in the ribs and leading and trailing edges. In all, I would rate this as a moderate level of building and not a beginners kit.
