The seller provided pictures and if you looked close you could see the problems, but a description of the book, not its contents, would have helped. The tear in the back cover was obvious, but the dried gunk looked more like a shadow. The gouge in the back cover WAS hard to see from the photos. In any event, I'm not asking for a refund as the book is hard to find and it was cheap enough. Packaging could have been better. C'est la vie.
