Yard auxiliaries for he IJN
These are simple little models with a lot of character that allow a modeler, especially a new modeler, the chance to try out more advanced techniques without breaking the bank.
And when combined with the first Photo Etch set (a second is to be released soon) from Five Star Models they are breathtakingly detailed, while still being easy to assemble.

Excellent model
While the number of PE parts leads to a slight fragility of the model, it is still an excellent reproduction of the actual No.51 and No.52 Sub-Chasers of the IJN (Sub-Chaser No.53 had a slightly different layout, as it was steam-powered, rather than Diesel-powered, like most of the other Sub-Chasers).
Five Star includes instructions for MOST of the Photo Etch Parts, but as typical of Five Star, neglects to include instructions for ALL of the Photo Etch Parts. Fortunately only a few (3 - 4) are not identified, and 2 of them can be easily identified on the photo of the completed model.
But the model is otherwise highly detailed and correct, even as far as getting the undulating sheer-line of the hull and deck that was common on IJN ships to save weight.

Replica WWII Khaki M1 Carbine Sling (Early-War)
Perfectly acceptable replica M1 Carbine sling for Early-WWII.
The fabric is tough, and the dye water-fast, so any washing does not fade it overly much.
The Lift-the-Dot fastener is tight, without being difficult to open when desired (but only when desired, and not by accident - I have tried to get it snagged on things to open accidentally and consistently failed).
This does not mean it will NEVER come unfastened by accident, only that it is not likely to do so at inopportune times (such as when dealing with Fascists overrunning your Mortar or MG Team)
