"VERY Compelling"
Excellently written novel that reveals the inner thinking of a woman who has endured and survived a damaging childhood. She becomes functional and self-reliant and learns to become a whole person while overcoming challenges. I could not put this book down.

"Masterfully Written Story
I can not wait for Ms. Owens' 2nd novel. This, absolutely, is the most intriguing book I have read since "The Thirteenth Tale" or "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Owens takes you to nature and its world, and a young girls journey of survival within that world. Can't recommend this book enough!

Symbolically related to humorous content
For a person who has pitched competitively in high school, college and semi-pro, I loved and chuckled to myself as I read this book for the second time in my life. Relatable, for me. Jim Bouton is an academically educated writer who has articulately expressed his experiences in professional baseball up to the conclusion of 1969. A definite pleasure for me to read. He frequently provides clever and witty short closures that effectively sum up experiences he lived with other pitchers, position players, field managers, coaches, and general managers with whom he interacted.
