Great title, look for an updated volume to come.

I think that this book is just as viable as it was when Bert Campbell and I produced it back in 1983. He wrote the text, and I illustrated it. At the time it was the only comprehensive reference for the subject matter covered. As far as I know it still is, and is still used by the History and Museums section of the United States Marine Corps as the "go to reference" for foreign Marine insignia.

"Semper Fi" - what else needs to be said?

Excellent format and comprehensive coverage of the US Marines. I was particularly impressed with the photo content, many of which are rarely seen in histories of the Corps. Great choice for anyone interested in the history of the USMC. I met Col. Chenoweth at I MEF Headquarters in March of '91 after the shooting had stopped. He was a very gracious senior Field Grade officer.
