Good Old Heavy Duty Vise.

These are heavy duty old vises. Rods are 1," plenty heavy duty to help minimize racking. The vise is not a big one, being only 7" wide, but is a good one.

The workbook book covers lots of things about shops this is both enjoyable and enlightening.

The book is a fun read, has a little history of workshops, and it also has some technical and quite a bit on practical issues to consider when building a shop for yourself. It has quite a bit of information and photos on many shops from all over the country that he visited in doing research for the book. Shops he has information on, including photos, include: 1. very large production shops, 2. small one man production shops, 3. large hobby shops with a lot of equipment, average home shops, 4. and even extremely small in home shops. The book has lots of pictures. Some issues discussed include: flooring, electrical issues, heating, dust collection, etc., etc., etc. If you are planning to build a shop, I highly recommend getting a copy of the book and reading it well in advance of building. I can almost guarantee that you will discover things that will help you end up with a better shop. If, on the other hand, you just want an enjoyable and enlightening read on shops, this book is for you.

Good descriptive title.

Incredible amount of detail, superb source of information. The best single source I have ever read for wide beds on a wide range of different vegetables. Covers bed preparation, companion planting, spacing, interplanting and many other aspects. It is also fairly interesting to read. It also covers many general aspects of gardening and details on growing many different garden plants. It is worth every penny I paid for it, I even bought a copy for a gardening friend. I would recommend it to anyone, but the detail and length might be a little intimidating to the beginning gardener.
