Get the VRII if you can afford it. If not don't sweat as its still great.
Big, heavy and beautiful!!
A very solid lens with weight to match. Some may be put off by this by I like the feel of it and the mass helps to dampen movement caused by mirror movement during shutter actuation.
Like most lenses it's sweet spot is at f5.6 and is noticeably softer wide open but it is far from unusable. I'll happily take this as the only other option is the 50% more expensive VRII model (not much better) or the crazy money but awesome 200/f2 I you want to shoot at 200mm and f2.8.
On full frame the vignetting is quite bad at f2.8 down to f4 and is quite disturbing if shooting a light background. However I don't really notice it in most images I have taken at f2.8 as colourful backgrounds disguise the issue nicely.
Overall it is not the perfect lens in terms of outright image quality but for sheer robust usability it's a winner.

Great but needs a more detailed fitting guide.
These two products are great. For a fraction of the OEM cost the seals have vastly improved the door close noise and completely replaced the clatter with satisfying thud. The windscreen gap filler also worked well once trimmed to length.
While there is a YouTube video detailing installation of the seals this only covers surface preparation and basic attachment. I had to source a diagram elsewhere to show exactly where the seal should be stuck. Similarly the screen seal, while basic in operation, had no guide for the orientation of the seal which could be fitted two ways. Minor points but a little more info would make it perfect.

Works well but could be thicker.
This is a good tool that does exactly what it's supposed to. I used it to fit my Wheels Manufacturing BB86 Bottom bracket and it worked absolutely fine. It would be better if the tool was thicker or had a flange to prevent it slipping over the splined nut (before tightened near the BB tube) but this would undoubtedly add cost.
Definitely better than a pair of pipe grips...
