Dash Camera X3000

Compact, easy to use with a 2.7" LCD screen. The X3000 HD DVR has a dual camera feature that will record what's happening up front as well as what's going on in the cabin, You can disable the internal camera view if you're camera shy. Why would you want to record what's going on in the cabin? I haven't a clue, but it's there if you want it. It records crystal clear vision even in poor light at 30 fps and with the built in GPS tracker will record where you are and how fast you're going. It will take up to a 32GB class 6 and above micro memory card and will auto cycle until the card is full. It also has a G sensor that will save video in the event of a collision and save it from accidental overwriting. I have tried many other dash cams and this is the only one that will keep the current date and time, even if left idle for weeks. it does get frustrating having to reset the date and time if you don't drive your car for a couple of days. It doesn't take up much room, and when it's set you can forget it's there. I tucked mine behind the rear vision mirror. The display will dim after a couple minutes to avoid being a distraction. Also a nice touch is you can tilt the front facing lens to get the best angle. I would recommend this as the best reliable, compact, easy to set up and use dash cam around, and at around $55.00 is very good value.

Good size GPS screen that's easy to use.

Overall I'm OK with the Garmin, I only have one niggling problem. It seems to be taking a long time to acquire satellites, I have to turn the GPS on ahead of time, sometimes up to 10 minutes! I've only had Garmin GPS devices (this is my 4th) and they seem to slow down over a couple of years time. This one is getting dementia way too early! I'm going to try updating software and maps again and see if it helps, it may just be teething problems or I'm in a bad area for picking up satellites. That's why it only gets 3 stars from me.
