Aged brass solution
Works best by immersion of brass so order plenty. Took a few minutes to turn irregularly dark. (Didn’t wash brass before immersion.) Found raw (no finish) solid brass 12” hinge at McMaster-Carr.

Retrofit pedal upgrade for 1946 Singer 15-91
Electronic pedal upgrade for old Singer. Enlarged opening in 3 prong female plug with a file to accommodate 4 wires, one from the pedal being soldered to the middle wire at end of insulation.
