    Western Art Masterpieces
I bought this for my personal collection, and another copy (as a gift for some close friends), because my Great-Grandfather, Henry Steinegger (1831-1917), did the Lithography on the Page 47 Plate. Henry co-founded Britton, Rey, & Co. (he was the Lithographer, and the "& Co.", according to Dr. Etta Steinegger [1879-1972], his daughter, and my Great-Aunt) in about 1854. Henry was probably the most prominent Lithographer in San Francisco in the latter half of the 19th Century, having done lithographed portraits of many prominent Californians of the day, including James Lick (Founder of the Lick Observatory), and a Mr. Henry Wells and a Mr. William Fargo, all of whom I would suppose he knew personally. Henry also did notable Lithographs of "Custer's Last Stand" and "Mountain Meadows" (a significant event in Mormon history), both of which are enshrined in the Library of Congress. His works are also in the Bancroft Library in Berkeley, and the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco. His works were of the highest quality, and I am priviliged to have inherited one of his original sketch books from ca. 1872, as well as two of his canes, and his pistol. I would like to think he would be very proud if he could see the guitars that I build, with his picture a central feature of my labels, cards, and stationery. I love everything about it, and I am enlightened by the other magnificent Art and History contained in this work. And I was delighted by the professionalism of BOTH of the sellers from whom I purchased these works! Robert A. Steinegger www.steinyguitars.com

    STANLEY 57-540 Dead Blow Hammer

    Perfect for the purpose
This is the ONLY hammer suitable for putting frets in guitars, etc. It does not damage or bend the frets. My old one lasted through 20 years of constant use!
