Great look at U.S. Navy World War II history
Learned some really interesting historical facts about about a part of our past that I lived a mile away from.

"Great Detail"
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I have read many submarine related books however still learned new details about the accomplishments of these three Boats and their crews. The author did a great job mixing in detailed background information into the reasons
decisions were made during this important time in our Navy's Submarine Service.

Very imformative view of U.S. Submarine Warfare in WWII
Much has been written about the problems U.S. Submarines encountered in the beginning of WWII. This book gives a new outlook as to some of the causes of problems that actually were set by events and practices formulated several years before the start of the war. I served in the 1960's on Diesel Submarines that were built during WWII. Many of the older crew members were veterans of WWII Submarine service and this book really made sense with what I learned and experienced from these individuals.
