It is a genuine product so go for it!
It is genuine Epson product and therefore it can be trusted not to damage the printer. After market products cannot necessarily be relied upon to perform the way the original products performed.

All good. Go ahead and try it.
The item was not expensive and works well. I did not find it easy to select the most suitable adapter to join the unit to my ear but I have it sorted now and the item works well.

Cheap and nasty.
Very inclined to bite your fingers if they happen to be in the wrong place. The end of the grip that will bite if you are careless is the end which works best and results int he highest reading on the dial. The other (outer) end of the grip hardly works at all. The item is cheap enough but if you want something that gives some sort of accurate result, don't buy this one.
