Helpful to Those Consumed by Others Problems
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This book came quickly and arrived in good condition and was a very easy read. I read it over a weekend and was surprised how digestible the content was. Codependent No More was insightful in that it made me feel validated in ways I never have before by discussing different personal struggles while giving lists of typical behavior traits people with codependency exhibit and offered exercises to dive into my own experience with codependency. This book does well at not having a pity party and was a bit of a wake up call by discussing cycles of behavior I hadn't realized I participated in for years. It emphasizes an individual's responsibility in becoming (and continuing participation in being) codependent in a relationship and the aspects of closeness and intimacy that codependency ultimately will deprive a relationship of, such as raw honesty (vulnerability), boundaries, reflection, and self-esteem.
