Top player for cheap
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Ive had a philips cd753 ( same insides ) for a while and then I bought another for 25 notes to fiddle about with.
After reading various stuff about replacing clocks, capacitors , valve output stages etc and knowing next to naff all about whats really going on under the hood I thought that I'd try something easy first so I found the L & R output from the dac and took these signals straight to a pair of rca's via a pair of caps to get rid of any volts that might be hanging about....not at all difficult
I had some jantzen caps that were for something else that I couldnt be arsed to do. 1.1uf iirc (or maybe 2.2uf ).
Well for the price of the caps and a bit of hot glue (£5) I now have a cd player that is much easier on the ear.
I liked this player before but just bypassing the output stage took some of the grainy-ness out ..if that is even a word? and gave the player more 'warmth' or perhaps 'distortion' depending on your view of audio semantics.
Anyway now it sounded like a really expensive cd player and when plugged into my mates system ( his speakers were over 50k !!!) It didnt mess its pants and sounded really quite 'nice' .. which was nice ....but really irritated the hell out of my mate.

Everyone should have one
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Totally acceptable specs ..cheapest usb DAC on the planet that has duplex stereo in and out so home studio compatible. Never fails to work whether using with studio s.ware, REW or as a s.card with any machine .
Broke my uca202 after 8 yrs use by standing on it (duh) so now I have the red one :-)
Of course you're limited with 44.1 or 48 and in outs so buy something more expensive with higher spec but always have one of these around . Works every time without fuss until you figure out why your multi in out mega sample rate rack isn't ticking . Has saved me a red face more than once setting up gear in a hurry.

All good
So far no one stole my wheel so.its working as a lock and deterrent.
I had to file the dropout sightly as they are larger than track nuts but for me that's not an issue
