Out with the wire, In with the blade
This flat blade, two hole dipstick is far superior to the wire wound type. If you have a MX5 with the wire type you know how hard they are to read. Plus, there have been some posts on the Miata Net about the wire type separating from the handle and becoming stuck in the engine.
Those posts along with the ease of reading this blade type prompted my purchase.
It is easier to read, hopefully won't break off, and it's just a little lighter. What's not to like?

used deep well
This used socket was good price and the only issue was a previous owners etched initials. Not that bothers me. It still works fine and if it ever doesn't all I have to do is find my local Snap-on dealer and get a new one for free.

1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This pivot gauge is made of plastic. It's stout enough to do the job. The pivot arm is held in place by a metal spring snap. If you treat it as what it is, and store it carefully it should last. I have used mine once, and it does make taking measurements much easier. I wish I had gotten one with my mower. Actually for the price of my JD X320 it should have come with it.
One thing that I noticed that could make it inaccurate if care isn't taken is, the base is very thin, and not perfectly flat. So it's important to press down on the base at the same spot, each time a measurement is taken. Not a big deal, but it does help to ensure accuracy. I plan to mount it on a 1/8" piece of steel flat stock to eliminate this issue.
