Just the right balance of size and fidelity for your desk.
As long as you know what you're getting, these fit the bill perfectly. These aren't ghetto blasters. These aren't studio monitors. They're excellent desktop (computer) speakers. In an office at work, with others beyond the thin walls, my 2.1 system was impossible. Everyone could hear the thumping with the volume barely up. With these, I get 95% of the range, with much more volume and no one else can hear the thumping. I'm constantly up and down from my desk, so headphones aren't an option - besides, headphones are not for true audio enjoyment... soundstage and presence are impossible to achieve when the sound is centered inside your head.
Anyway - these are great little speakers, nicely packaged and high quality materials. I couldn't be happier.
