A Great, Delightful Show!
I saw this when it aired on Showtime and I recorded it on VHS. I enjoyed it so much, and never forgot it. I was glad to see it available on DVD, and I ordered it. If anything, I'm even more impressed with it now than I was years ago. It's a delightful show I think almost anyone would enjoy, so clever with memorable original songs. If it sounds like you'd like it, you probably will!

Imaginative songs
I wanted this in order to have Mexican Radio and Don't Box Me In on CD, and the record on the whole is good, with unique story/songs, and besides the 2 hits, Im getting to know a few of the others.

a good book about a bad movie
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This is a good book about a bad movie, in which Greg Sestero tells his story. He was a handsome young man just out of High school. He manages to open a few doors in modeling and acting, but building a career still proves to be difficult in the sea of Hollywood. In a San Francisco acting class, he meets the extraordinary personality Tommy Wiseau, a man of both indeterminate age and nationality, who also has a pool of mysteriously gained resources from which he makes his dream project, the now legendary cinematic opus known as "The Room". Tommy is by turns sweet, naïve bold, lonely, narcissistic, paranoid and a little disturbing at times, but he manages, with Greg's invaluable help, to make his own movie his own way, thoroughly confounding everyone in the process. The movie is a romantic triangle/tragedy, but it has become a cult phenomenon in the vein of Rocky Horror, with fans finding humor in the films' inconsistencies, while the movie also has an odd "Ed Wood"-like charm about it, and it seems to exist in its own dream-like,strangely wrought world. The film was recently given the Rifftrax treatment, to hilarious result . The book is co-written by magazine writer Tom Bissell, and it is an extremely insightful, funny, well-written tale of an unusual friendship between these two very different men in LA, and it tells the story of the making of what has been celebrated as one of the worst movies ever made. At one point, Greg asks, "if art is expression, can it fail?" a truly worthy question indeed.
