Campy and fun
The story and dialog are goofy without feeling too forced. The gameplay is actually fun and challenging. The replayability value is high and it's great for short gaming sessions.

One of the best lowbrow shows but the DVD's have some issues
In short, the series is the peak of modern lowbrow TV-appropriate humor. Most of these episodes are so unique an memorable that I can recognize them within the first few seconds. Many inappropriate (but quotable) lines and moments throughout the whole series. The football aspect is not the real focus of the show but its an appropriate vessel for the outlandish stories and characters.
The DVD's have a couple of issues. Disc 1 of the season 1 DVD episode selection menu doesn't seem to list all the episodes. You'll have to play all episodes to access the unlisted ones or use a "title selection" menu of a more advanced media player. Seasons 2 and 3 both have their first and second episodes mis-ordered according to a large number of online sources. I believe this is due to the story-based numbering vs airing date issues from the original TV run. Aside from these issues, the DVD's play fine.

Functionally, there's no difference between this and the newer models as far as portable music players go.
